Nuance Investments, LLC was formed in 2008 to create a world-class value investment firm based in Kansas City. The two owners of the firm pooled their capital in late 2008 to fund the two primary products managed by the team for our clients. Today the firm manages 115 separate accounts and approximately $160 million for both private and institutional clients using their time-tested classic value approach.

The Nuance Investments investment philosophy is a classic value approach founded on the belief that identifying leading business franchises selling at a discount to fair value has the potential to generate excess returns over time. More specifically, our team consistently researches and locates companies across all industries and sectors that have leading and sustainable market share positions, above-average financial strength, and are trading a discount to the team’s internal view of intrinsic value. Through long-term study of each company and thorough analysis of financial statements, management strategy, and competitive position, our team has become very familiar with each company bought and sold in the portfolios over time. This familiarity allows for consistent and prompt execution with the sole focus being the provision of excess returns over the long-term.
